This course offers a comprehensive continuation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills development in the fundamental aspects of Surgical Specialties and Procedures. This course imparts practical knowledge to students regarding specialty-specific surgical procedures, encompassing indications/diagnoses, pertinent anatomy, terminology, patient preparation, potential complications, instruments, equipment, supplies, and setup requirements. The course will comprehensively cover topics within the following specialties: ENT, Cardiothoracic, Peripheral Vascular, Neurology, Orthopedics, Plastic/Reconstruction, Maxillofacial, Pediatric Surgery, and Emergency Trauma. By delving into these areas, students will acquire a profound understanding of the intricacies and nuances associated with each specialty, equipping them to navigate diverse surgical scenarios effectively. PREREQUISITE(S): SURG 116, 119, 120 & 125
