All-Gender Bathrooms

LGBTQ Resources Webpage

RTC transgender students, faculty, and staff have the right to use bathrooms that best match their gender identity. In an effort to make our campus safer for transgender people, there are single occupant All Gender Bathrooms across campus. If you need help locating a bathroom, please ask in the Student Leadership office (J-216).

Bookstore

RTC Bookstore Website

The RTC Bookstore provides all required textbooks and course materials for your classes, as well as reference books, supplies, electronics, clothing, and gifts. You may also make purchases online via the RTC Bookstore website to have your order shipped to your home, or you can pick up in store at no extra cost.

Campus Security

Renton Technical College is committed to providing a safe and secure learning and working environment for the RTC community. 

 Renton Technical College Security actively patrols campus buildings and grounds in addition to responding to calls for service. All crimes and emergencies should be reported to RTC Security and/or 911. RTC Security also provides vehicle unlock and jump-start services with a completed release of liability. 

RTC Security coordinates emergency management and response on campus and works closely with the City of Renton first responders. For daily crime log and Annual Security Report information please visit the RTC  Security webpage where you will also find other helpful information about parking, emergency mass notification, and campus closures.

Construction Center of Excellence

Construction Center of Excellence Website

The Washington State Construction Center of Excellence (CCoE) is a state-wide resource hub for the workforce, education and training providers, job seekers, and employers in the construction industry. The Center provides access to agencies, training programs, career exploration opportunities, safety protocols, and general information about the industry. CCoE belongs to a system of twelve Centers across the state that work together to sustain a highly skilled and competitive workforce and support the state’s economic development.  

We strive to eliminate any barriers to entering the construction industry, while creating space for the rising generations to dream big and pursue career options that speak to their abilities. Hosted at Renton Technical College, CCoE serves all Community and Technical colleges in the state that offer programs in the field of Construction. We convene partnerships among business, industry, labor, government, and education for the purpose of enhancing economic and workforce development initiatives to meet the current and future needs of the construction industry.

By connecting educators at every level (K-12, college, apprenticeship) and incumbent workers with industry-focused partners and subject matter experts, our current and future workforce will be ready to exceed construction industry needs. The Construction Center of Excellence serves as a national model for bringing industry, labor, and education together to develop a highly skilled and diverse workforce.  Partnering with stakeholders throughout North America, we provide best-in-class resources, training, and information.

Renton Technical College provides academic counseling and entry advising for prospective students to help them choose a college program that matches their interests, goals, and abilities. Each academic counselor is specialized in a particular area or population and is assigned to a college division to enhance communication between teachers and curriculum areas. Counselors work with and serve as liaisons with community agencies, while entry advisors and counselors collectively represent all program areas, offering general information about RTC.[CA1]

Food Services

Student Dining Services Webpage

Our restaurants and bakery provide a hands-on environment for training students. Food services are available when school is in session. Limited food services are available when school is not in session. A wide variety of vending machines are available in Buildings A, B, C, I, K, L and RTC Downtown for all your night and weekend food needs. 

The Culinary Arts facility is in the Robert C. Roberts Campus Center, Building I. Weekly menus are available on the RTC Student Dining Services webpage

Bakery

An assortment of freshly baked goods is prepared daily by students in the Professional Baking program and sold in the RTC Bakery. Special order cakes, pies or other breads and pastries are available, when school is in session. Minimum three (3) day notice required for special orders.

Let RTC make your event special, whether it’s a wedding, box lunch, sit-down meal, or special occasion at home or at work. Facilities on campus are available for rental for any size group, from small business meetings to weddings and conferences. Also available for rental are staging, draping, audiovisual and other equipment.

Lactation Room

Lactation Room Webpage

Renton Technical College recognizes the breastfeeding needs of new mothers by providing a comfortable, private Lactation Room for students and employees. The Lactation Room includes a mini-refrigerator, comfortable seating and a side table, and electrical outlets for breast pumps. To schedule, call Elaine Patrick, (425) 235-2470 (Office B-127).

Learning Resource & Career Center (LRCC)

The Learning Resource & Career Center (LRCC) offers personalized assistance and specialized tools that help students achieve their academic and career goals. The LRCC staff is committed to helping students make connections between academic experiences and career paths. Providing compassionate, comprehensive assistance to RTC students and alumni is our top priority.

Parking

Parking Information Webpage

Parking rules and regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the calendar year. RTC students, employees and visitors are required to obtain parking permits for their vehicles. Parking permits are free of charge.

  • Student parking permits are available at the Registration Office, Building I.
  • Employee parking permits can be obtained from Campus Security.

The Office of Student Leadership and Programs is the home of the Associated Students, the representative student body always working to represent, evolve, and improve the student experience at RTC. The Associated Student Senate, led by the Executive Board, reviews and passes legislation, disperses funds for activities and events, and approves new student organizations to join the Associated Students. Working within the Associated Students as a student staff member opens a wide array of opportunities for self-improvement, skill building, and leadership development; while centering the activities and events on campus around student’s needs and perspectives. The Testing Services and Center at Renton Technical College engages a diverse student population through educational opportunities for career readiness and advancement by providing a professional and quality testing services to students, faculty, staff, community, and businesses. We provide a comfortable testing environment aligned with our commitment to Guided Pathways for your educational and career needs. All examinations administered require a valid state or government photo identification and a proof receipt of payment and for some exams a Renton Technical College student identification. Lockers are provided to store your personal and electronic belongings. No food or drinks are allowed in the testing center. Please note that children are not permitted in the Testing Center.

Behavioral Health Services

RTC supports student well-being by offering dedicated mental health counseling services. Our virtual and in-person therapy sessions are available to provide all currently enrolled students a confidential space to identify and work through academic stressors and/or personal challenges. Located on the 2nd floor of building ‘I’ in the Student Success Center, the Behavioral Health Office aims to create a warm and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
