NURS 195 - Foundations of Nursing Clinical 4 Total Credits Introduces fundamental principles and practices of the nursing profession and using hands-on learning experiences in a clinical setting. Provides experience that allows students to further develop basic nursing skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide safe, patient centered care.
Course Outcomes
- Safely perform and document:
- Focused head to toe physical assessments.
- Administer non-parenteral medications and other basic skills.
- Demonstrate ability to accurately navigate, document, and obtain data in the patient Electronic Health Records.
- Employ therapeutic and professional communication techniques in the clinical setting.
- Follow standard safety and infection control measures to perform nursing skills correctly in the clinical setting.
