Introduces fundamental principles and practices of the nursing profession and using hands-on learning experiences in a clinical setting. Provides experience that allows students to further develop basic nursing skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide safe, patient centered care.

Course Outcomes

Safely perform and document:
- Focused head to toe physical assessments.
- Administer non-parenteral medications and other basic skills.
Demonstrate ability to accurately navigate, document, and obtain data in the patient Electronic Health Records.
Employ therapeutic and professional communication techniques in the clinical setting.
Follow standard safety and infection control measures to perform nursing skills correctly in the clinical setting.
