NURS 109 - Foundations of Nursing Laboratory 3 Total Credits Provide practical experience and skills necessary for entry-level nursing. Serves as a complement to theory course. Focuses on fundamental nursing concepts and procedures, developing their clinical skills, critical thinking, and communication techniques.
Course Outcomes
- Develop hands on basic nursing skills competence performing accurate and safe patient assessments.
- Manage patient care through administering medications safely and correctly, applying basic dosage calculations, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Apply knowledge of nursing interventions and procedures.
- Develop and utilize effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Demonstrate basic informatics knowledge using skills lab monitors and equipment, as well as demonstration of EHR documentation.
