MEDA 130 - Career and National Exam Preparation 2 Credits This course focuses on preparing students to take and pass the national certification exam for medical assistants. This course will review hard-to-understand topics and topics that were taught earlier on in the program that may be included on the national exam. Students will also learn the preparation and test-taking techniques required to complete a certification exam.
Course Outcomes
- Review topics taught in the medical assistant program from quarters one through three.
- Register and schedule the exam offered through American Medical Technologists.
- Take and successfully pass practice exams in canvas.
- Take and pass the certifying medical assistant exam in order to obtain a Washington State Medical Assistant License.
- Apply for the Washington State Medical Assistant License through the Department of Health.
