BIR 185 - Human Relations for Band Instrument Repair

Students learn concepts of employer-employee, employee-employee, customer relations and negotiation skills. Also covered are interpersonal relationship skills necessary to function as a productive member of a working team. Discussions of topics relating to cultural and gender-sensitive issues relate these issues to the work place.

Course Outcomes

Establish and maintain good working relationships and proper behavior in a diverse workplace environment.
Demonstrate the tools needed to maintain a good working relationship with a manager or employer.
Illustrate the complexities and sensitivities of good customer relation skills as related, but not limited to; frustrated customers, music educators, first time band parents, and presentation of estimates.
