BAKS 145 - Hand Crafted Yeast Breads

This 3-evening course meets on consecutive evenings and introduces the following concepts and learning opportunities: how to knead dough, proper rise techniques, deflating and shaping the dough, baking methods, stocking the right ingredients, the necessary and favorite equipment and tools of the yeast dough baker at home, and of course, working with yeast. Chef Hope Sandler’s simple approach offers a variety of wonderful possibilities! Tuscan Rosemary and Currant Rolls; Braided Herb-Sesame Bread; Rustic Raisin Molasses Bread; Wild Mushroom Pizza; Apricot, Chocolate and Walnut Braid; Sweet Spiral Wreath; Fresh Fruit Galette; Twisted Bread Ring with Cranberries and Marsala; Cinnamon Rolls and more. Taught by Chef Hope Sandler, a nationally recognized culinary and pastry arts educator, food writer and professional chef. Please bring a clean apron, chef knife, and measuring tools with you to class.
