BAKS 102 - Saturday Baking Series 1

Back by popular demand! This is an excellent series for either the accomplished or the aspiring home baker, offering a lot of new material and good practice under the experienced eye of a chef. Join Chef Hope Sandler for this 5-class baking series that will teach you the fundamental elements of many kinds of baked goods. With Chef Hope at your side you will practice with different types of bread dough, pie crust, and pastry, learn new techniques, and become familiar and comfortable with essential baking methods. CLASS 1- Simple Learn Dough: Vendemmia Bread (grape-bunch shaped loaf), Tuscan Rosemary and Currant Rolls, and Focaccia. CLASS 2- Enriched Dough: brioche, dinner rolls, and specialty breads. CLASS 3- Laminate Dough: “Blitz” Homemade Puff Pastry, Palmiers, Napoleon, and Apple Tarte Tatin. CLASS 4- Pies, Tarts and Cobblers: pate sucree and pate brisee, with emphasis on perfect texture and rolling technique. CLASS 5- Cakes and Cupcakes: baking, splitting, filling and frosting cakes. Please bring a clean apron, chef knife, and measuring tools with you to class. Supply cost is included in the tuition fee.
