NURSS 101 - RN Transition Course

Credits 2
This transition course is designed for students entering the LPN to RN bridge program. These students have already successfully completed an LPN certificate program and are licensed as practical nurses. This course will build on previous knowledge especially in the area of critical thinking and focus on the skills necessary to transition from the role of a Licensed Practical Nurse to the role of a Registered Nurse. Scope of practice issues will be explored in depth. The students will be introduced to concept mapping. The course prepares students to be successful in an LPN to RN transition program and to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN exam at competition. The course will be delivered in seminar on campus, web-based instruction and independent study.
