CIVS 125 - Road Design

Students learn the basic principles of road and highway design. Topics covered include flexible and rigid pavement systems, route location, horizontal and vertical alignments, plan details, earthwork calculations, profiles, cross sections, and utilities layouts. State and county guidelines for planning, design, and construction are used as reference materials. Students work in the computer lab using AutoCAD and the Civil 3D software to generate a complete set of plans.
