Construction Management, AAS-T

Associate of Applied Science Transfer Degree 90 credits  

Academic Plan: CONCMAS 

Enrollment Point: Fall, Winter or Spring Quarter 

Prepare for careers in construction management as a site supervisor, project manager, superintendent, estimator, safety officer, and other administrators. Students learn estimating, scheduling, project management, human relations, and other skills that are critical in the construction management field. Students can enroll on a part-time or full-time basis, to earn a certificate or degree.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Model productive relationships with diverse coworkers and clients. Demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills in diverse and complex work situations. 
  • Interpret information from construction plans and codes. 
  • Use current computer software effectively. 
  • Identify properties and uses of construction materials. 
  • Create schedules and budgets for construction projects.  
  • Design safety plans and training for construction projects.  

Program Requirements


Below is the course sequence for students who enter in fall quarter. The course sequence for other entry points may vary.

It is helpful to have foundational computer skills: be able to use a mouse, navigate the internet, download and save files. 

Contact your advisor to review approved General Education distribution areas and elective options appropriate for program of study.

Elective Options


25 credits 

CBE 101; any classes from Accounting (ACCT/ACCT&), Entrepreneurship (BUS), Business Project (APP), Property Maintenance (PROP), Surveying (SUR), or General Education; PLA credit for a journey card in carpentry, roofing, or other construction trade. 

 

For BAS preparation, additional general education classes are strongly recommended.

GPA Requirements


  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0
  • Minimum grade for each CONST course except CONST 103: 2.0 
  • Minimum grade for all other courses: 1.0 each
