The Medical Coding Foundational Skills course identifies skill sets and knowledge needed for successful medical coding career. Students will identify the types of documentation contained in health records; gain an understanding of medical office workflow systems; provide a brief overview of the health insurance claims process and identify desirable personality traits and on-the-job skills health insurance professionals.
