BAST 063 - Academic Reading - Open Doors

This course serves students in the Open Doors Youth Re-engagement program. This reading course prepares students to be active, engaged readers and thinkers about texts to become college and career ready. Students will read and discuss a variety of texts that represent different genres, voices, cultures, and centuries. The students will participate in a community of readres that rely on Reading Apprenticeship routines to learn various problem-based reading stances that will help them work through complex texts. Intended for studnets working at CCRS levels C-E.
