AMATH 176S - Math for Machine Technology 1 Credits 5 In this course, students apply basic math skills to problems in precision machining and manufacturing. Topics include fractions, decimals, ratio/proportion, percentages, geometry (including composite figures), cutting speeds and feeds, speed ratios of pulleys & gears, and the fundamentals of algebra. Prerequisite(s): MTEC 161 with a minimum 2.0
Course Outcomes
- Solve problems involving fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, polygons, circles and solids.
- Solve problems for speeds and feeds, gears power, work, and strength of materials.
