AUTC 191 - Cooperative Education (Optional)

The student will be working in a Renton Technical College approved automotive repair facility performing the duties assigned by the management and/or mentoring technician. Student should demonstrate abilities in shop safety, pollution prevention, and shop procedures to NATEF and industry standards.

Prerequisite(s): AUTC 101, AUTC 112, AUTC 117, INDS 101.

Course Outcomes

Practice safe work habits and follow shop safety procedures.
Handle hazardous materials correctly and follow pollution prevention practices.
Perform routine maintenance and light repair tasks under supervision.
Apply basic electrical principles while diagnosing or servicing vehicle systems.
Assist with inspection, maintenance, or repair of brake systems.
Assist with inspection, maintenance, or repair of steering and suspension systems.
Perform workplace tasks using procedures aligned with ASE Education Foundation guidelines.
