PILE 132 - Concrete I

3 Credits
This course is a detailed study of the many uses of concrete in the construction of buildings. Main focus of instruction will be footing forms, single-waler wall forms, patented wall form systems, column forms, beam forms, and deck forms. Projects in each area are completed in the lab.

Describe the properties and uses of concrete in construction.
Perform necessary mathematical calculations related to concrete foundations.
Describe how a wall footing form is constructed and complete a related team lab exercise.
Describe various column forms and construct a project using various types of column forms.
Describe how a single-waler or double-waler wall form is constructed and complete a related lab exercise.
