PILE 132 - Concrete I 3 Credits This course is a detailed study of the many uses of concrete in the construction of buildings. Main focus of instruction will be footing forms, single-waler wall forms, patented wall form systems, column forms, beam forms, and deck forms. Projects in each area are completed in the lab.
Course Outcomes
- Describe the properties and uses of concrete in construction.
- Perform necessary mathematical calculations related to concrete foundations.
- Describe how a wall footing form is constructed and complete a related team lab exercise.
- Describe various column forms and construct a project using various types of column forms.
- Describe how a single-waler or double-waler wall form is constructed and complete a related lab exercise.
