ABDY 240 - Advanced Autobody Repair


Credits 6
Students work hands-on and repair various types of damage on a number of vehicles. Subjects include automotive foams, trim and hardware, and corrosion protection. Training prepares students for certification in I-CAR Non-Structural Technician, ProLevel I.
Course Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate the proper use of all the safety equipment and tools that is required to perform the task of repairing the damage.
  2. Analyze a repair, by way of writing an estimate/work order.
  3. Plan a repair, making sure that all of the damage is identified ,and parts are available to do the repair.
  4. Align all panels for proper fit before refinish operation.
  5. Identify the different types of seam sealers where and when needed.
  6. Explain the use weld thru primers on replacement panels.
  7. Demonstrate the reasons and use of corrosion protection and sealers on replacement panels.
