MAP 248 - Introduction to Healthcare Processes

This course provides an introduction to legal issues that impact health care. Laws and regulations related to the health care industry such as HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, and standard of care are addressed. In addition, the course addresses the impact of health care issues on health care delivery including the determinants of health to include insurance costs, applications for health professions, and the need of comprehensive planning and its impact on the future.
