AMATH 176S - Math for Machine Technology 1

In this course, students apply basic math skills to problems in precision machining and manufacturing. Topics include fractions, decimals, ratio/proportion, percentages, geometry (including composite figures), cutting speeds and feeds, speed ratios of pulleys & gears, and the fundamentals of algebra.
Prerequisite(s): MTEC 161 with a minimum 2.0

Course Outcomes
  1. Solve problems involving fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, polygons, circles and solids.
  2. Solve problems for speeds and feeds, gears power, work, and strength of materials.
