ABDY 106 - Color Theory, Application, Tinting, and Blending

Credits 2
Hue, value, and chroma, the three dimensions of color, and how they relate to automotive finish matches are explained and demonstrated in great detail. Students witness the effects of different light sources on various colors and demonstrate their matching skills on panels. Training prepares students for certification in I-CAR refinish Technician, ProLevel I.
Course Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of color perception and evaluation.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of tinting applications, issues.
  3. Describe tinting processes and techniques.
  4. Explain new technologies related to tinting.
