CNT 156 - CompTIA A+ Core I

Students with little or no IT background will learn computer technology and computer troubleshooting in this first preparation course for the CompTIA A+ 220-1001 industry certification exam. This certification, which is one of two exams that help you establish an IT career, includes PC maintenance, networking, mobile devices, laptops, operating systems, printers, security and troubleshooting techniques. Students will cover these topics in detail.

Course Outcomes

Identify, install, and configure internal and external components in order to diagnose, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to resolve hardware concerns.
Demonstrate how to complete a USB boot, network install, and clean install of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Configure a small office/home office (SOHO) network.
Configure system security settings.
Troubleshoot system startup.
Obtain the basics of converting an IPv4 address to binary and understand IPv6 hexadecimal.
Learn protection and safety techniques to prepare them for authentic environments.
Understand the importance of change management, chain of custody, and documentation.
